Crypto Yacht Party! Live - 3air AMA, 30/3/22 @ 5pm CET

This is a transcript from our weekly YouTube live AMA:

Anita Mlakar: 00:05

Hello, everybody, welcome to 3air’s AMA every week on Wednesday, 5pm Central European Time. And here we are, again, Anita Mlakar is my name. I am the host of these AMAs. And we are really trying to get as much information as we can to you about 3air and the project of bringing internet to Africa. So, thank you for being with us.

00:29

I will start looking at the chat to see who is with us already. And today we have a special AMA, as you could see, if you saw the invitation, then you know what is awaiting us but before that, let’s just invite you to participate. If you have a question, you can ask a question of course, and make some comments here on YouTube channel, like our YouTube channel, and subscribe to it. If you’re not subscribed yet. Then of course, invite your friends to be a part of it and join us on our channels in our communities. We have on twitter, on Discord on Instagram, that our social media then we have one on telegram, we are on Facebook, we are everywhere. So just follow us. And if you want to know more about our project, do read the white paper. And of course, ask questions and communicate in our communities.

01:21

We are here also. AMA is a part of this communication with you where you can really be a part of it and ask questions to get the answers you want to hear. And something else, Today’s a very special day, it’s the 31st of March, we will talk also about that but today’s ama will be a little different, it will be shorter because Sandi, the CEO of 3air, Sandi Bitenc will be with us just for a short time to give us some information from the location where he is. This is in a way, surprise AMA and he will tell us more about it shortly but first what we always do is talk a little about the project, the project of 3air and bringing internet to Africa.

02:05

So, connectivity in Africa is really a big challenge we know that already and there is almost no broadband internet system and a huge percentage of people have never been used internet if you can imagine that. We cannot here in Europe so most people subscribe to network providers to buy gigabytes and paying big money for it even at that the network signal isn’t strong and three areas here to change that what we doing will make a big difference not only for the people of Africa, but for everyone in Africa and African people will bring so much to the global economy. The need and potential in Africa is huge, the possibility is that stable broadband offs will be positively life changing and the access to digital identities of banking loans education, business opportunities, spreading talent and so on. After this African countries we will be able to work side by side with other top countries and this is important. so, connecting unconnected, banking the unbanked the people of Africa and opportunity to communicate with the world with all activities that 3air is working on please again check what we are doing on our communities Discord, Telegram and Twitter and I hope that Sandi is able to join us now because he is on a special location.

03:32

Sandi, hello!

Sandi Bitenc: 03:34

Hello! Hi everyone. Can you hear me well?

Anita Mlakar: 03:38

Yes, very well actually.

Sandi Bitenc: 03:40

Okay cool.

Anita Mlakar: 03:42

I see you have a great surrounding, Sandi.

Sandi Bitenc: 03:46

Yeah, so we are in the field today, not streaming from home so I hope this will work but yeah, just as you saw already in the invitation, we have a Binance Boat party today and it should have started at seven, so I just arrived. it was a bit of a problem because on the invitation there was a wrong address, so I think everybody is still at the wrong location probably. We’re probably one of the few ones here that are from Dubai and know a bit that there’s only one Marina inside downtown where you can get in a boat but yeah, it’s nice.

Anita Mlakar: 04:34

Oh my God really?

Sandi Bitenc: 04:35

That’s in the middle of Dubai downtown. So, they literally build bigger canal there. That was not before. Let me try let me see if I can- No I cannot turn the camera I think in between but there was desert before here. So, this is downtown and all around downtown they just dug this canal and now there are boats. You can be on the yacht between skyscrapers. It’s like really nice.

Anita Mlakar: 05:10

Are you living close by?

Sandi Bitenc: 05:15

Yeah, I’m quite close among the other side of downtown, we will be going out at eight. So, I would be able to show you and when we go and sail a bit, but it’s actually on just there on that side on the other side of downtown. Let’s see where is the Burj Khalifa. There’s the Burj Khalifa. So there, you see that, that’s the Burj Khalifa there. And I’m just behind the Burj Khalifa.

Anita Mlakar: 05:55

We have a little site seeing right now live on AMA.

Sandi Bitenc: 06:00

Yeah, but I thought that the boat would be already full. So, we could speak to a few people there but okay, there are now some people arriving. Just there.

Anita Mlakar: 06:10

Sandi, Richard is saying, let’s take a boat tour together.

Sandi Bitenc: 06:15

Yes, sure. We’ll be streaming a bit but let’s see, I’ll try to update you as much as possible.

Anita Mlakar: 06:24

Yes, do that. Sandi, we’ll just take a couple of your minutes because I know that you will be very busy today. This is actually a networking event and you have been in so many of them, in this week and the week before and you will be the week after so you’re really active. What is going on lately?

Sandi Bitenc: 06:44

It’s like crazy here in Dubai. Currently, it’s event after event after event. And even today, there was an overlap from Binance Blockchain week, the last day and the start of east Dubai. And then in the evening, there’s just networking events that go till morning. And they’re like, you know, three to four networking events like parties, but they for sure are good to network that the most deals get done there. And yeah, we shook hands on one deal yesterday at a party in the Burj Khalifa. It sounds fun, to be honest, it sounds fun, but it’s not so much fun when it’s every day. That’s the problem. I would literally love to get some sleep. Yeah, honestly.

Anita Mlakar: 07:36

I can imagine Sandi are doing a good work. And you know why you’re doing it but it’s sometimes difficult, right? We have to also take care of ourselves. Sandi, what are you expecting today? What will be happening there?

Sandi Bitenc: 07:49

Well, let’s see. It’s a Binance Africa party. So, I expect everyone that means something in crypto in Africa, especially in Nigeria to be here. And it’s all about knowing people and even more so in Africa than in crypto in general. There were already there was some chats going on about maybe adding somebody to our team. Hopefully this will happen. We are already even in talks. And I don’t even know who will be able to meet but it’s all about meeting people talking about business and for sure. Nigeria is going to be number one talk here, at least for me.

Anita Mlakar: 08:42

That’s great. I know that you said in one of our conversations and AMA also that you’re an introvert, but here you are not, you are doing such a great business. And really talking to people and connecting, which sometimes can be you know, a little difficult also to be nice and talk and smile and talk the same things over and over again but yeah, that’s how it is.

Sandi Bitenc: 09:07

Yeah, you nailed it. It’s been a few days that I was literally so close to start snapping at people. It was just too much. Too much stuff going on all at the same time and yeah, I needed really to take some time. You know, a few deep breaths before I could start talking again to some people.

Anita Mlakar: 09:33

Yeah, I know. Is this yacht going out on the sea today or just staying there?

Sandi Bitenc: 09:40

Yeah, it’s going out. So, we should go out at eight. I do hope that we get everybody in time here because as I said, the location on the invitation was around a kilometer and a half away from here. So, let’s see how fast the word goes around and people can come here. But yeah, at eight it should go out. The party should start at seven. So now it’s already 07:12 Nothing gets started yet, but we have a DJ here kind of prepared for some DJ’aying, so it’s going to be a party. It’s going to be some nice food and a lot of cool people.

Anita Mlakar: 10:21

Invitation said, lots of food.

Sandi Bitenc: 10:25

Yeah. And I’m hungry. I needed to do some work in the morning. So, I missed the breakfast at the Binance Blockchain week. So, then it was back-to-back meetings, and I came home at 5:30. Having only like, I think five or six coffees in meetings, and I was literally shaking already. So, I’m waiting for the food now.

Anita Mlakar: 10:55

Yeah, use the opportunity. Just one more question Sandi. Tomorrow is an important day also because the presale is starting. Are you ready? Are we ready?

Sandi Bitenc: 11:05

Yes, sure. There was still some issues today with the card payments that we are solving. I cannot tell you right now if they were solved. So, we were it was not on our side it was on the payment processor side, but everything is ready from our side. So, we will also have the promised credit cards working as it seem. And tomorrow, I think we said like 1pm UTC time. And there was actually a timer already in the presale app and everybody can already do the KYC and everything so that you’re ready. When everything starts tomorrow. As we said, the maximum ticket is going to be $120 Max. So not big tickets and there are 2 million tokens for sale. So, just a small three sell because we promised it. It’s not about funds. It’s mostly about getting everyone a chance to be involved, at least partly as we said, with all the private investors, we actually are good with funds and ready to start. We now need to grow the community, grow the awareness, we want everybody to be part of it, of the journey that we set out to go.

Anita Mlakar: 12:26

Okay, great. I’m looking forward to that. Don’t miss it, guys tomorrow. And then you have a week time, right Sandi?

Sandi Bitenc: 12:36

Yeah. It’s going to be open for a week.

Anita Mlakar: 12:39

Okay, Sandi, there was a question if you are on the right boat.

Sandi Bitenc: 12:45

There are some people with Binance T shirts. So, I think I am.

Anita Mlakar: 12:51

And you were the one telling the crew that they put the wrong address.

Sandi Bitenc: 12:57

Yeah, I told them that it was wrong. I think there are some people downstairs already. Maybe let’s try and go. People are starting to come. Just on the roof up right now. if somebody wants to see how the boat looks like. We can go a bit over through it. And I still you know, it’s not a lot going on here. So, I can answer some questions if there are some questions. I just cannot see them while I’m on the phone.

Anita Mlakar: 13:32

Okay. Richard is asking, who was the guy next to the Bugatti that was a conversation and in a discussion in community.

Sandi Bitenc: 13:42

We actually found out who he was. So, let’s see, who was following telegram channel and saw it. if somebody gets it right in the comments. I’ll give him 1000 tokens.

Anita Mlakar: 14:08

Oh my god. That’s a question right now, for 1000 tokens. So, who was the guy that we saw in the picture next to Bugatti and okay, the Bigdid said something Binance CEO of Africa? Okay, just giving some clues. I think. You know, Michael is asking if you have any Star Wars shirt under that blazer of yours.

Sandi Bitenc: 14:39

It’s just some glitter today.

Anita Mlakar: 14:42

It’s fancy. Michael This is fancy of him. Let’s say that Star Wars are always good.

Sandi Bitenc: 14:52

That’s true.

Anita Mlakar: 14:55

Okay, now we have one answer here, because it’s the first one and I have to, of course, show him first.

Sandi Bitenc: 15:06

Our community managers cannot participate in this one, that would not be right.

Anita Mlakar: 15:16

Okay. Richard said, Emmanuel Babalola.

Sandi Bitenc: 15:24

Yeah, that’s correct. So, Richard, you got 1000 tokens again from me. You’re just too good.

Anita Mlakar: 15:32

Oh my god.

Sandi Bitenc: 15:36

Drop me a message.

Anita Mlakar: 15:39

Okay, there was some another-

Sandi Bitenc: 15:44

We need to do something else. So, I think, oh my god, I don’t know the code. We need to get Ruba on the line.

Anita Mlakar: 15:50

I do, yeah.

Sandi Bitenc: 15:53

Cool.

Anita Mlakar: 15:54

Yeah. We’ll give the code away. Are you ready for the code? Okay, because Ruba just sent me the code. I didn’t know it before, but I just find out. So very important code for today is 4409. Once again 4409. And for those of you who are here on AMA, you have the advantage of course, you are the first one to know the code. Maybe the only ones who knows. Sandi, there was another question just a minute. I was laughing about it. Actually, asking you and me. What is our favorite ice cream?

Sandi Bitenc: 16:50

I always go with chocolate. Chocolate is my favorite.

Anita Mlakar: 16:58

You know which one do I like? Nougat.

Sandi Bitenc: 17:01

Nougat. That’s close. It’s close. It can be chocolate. Nougat is also good.

Anita Mlakar: 17:07

Yeah, that’s a good one. And I really like that one.

Sandi Bitenc: 17:10

Look, who we have here.

Anita Mlakar: 17:16

Is it Petra, oh my god? So nice to see you, Petra.

Petra Kmetec: 17:22

Hello!

Anita Mlakar: 17:22

We do share some feelings to us. How are you feeling there? How is it from a woman perspective?

Sandi Bitenc: 17:31

It’s nice, it’s good. I have a lot of expectations about this party because the boat is huge. It’s really big. So, we’ll see. Yeah, I think it’s going to be a good party. And Sandi loves chocolate like everywhere. Like chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate everything.

Anita Mlakar: 17:46

Can you share some information to us something more that we should know about him or you?

Sandi Bitenc: 17:56

Chocolate cake. It’s always good.

Anita Mlakar: 17:59

So, if you want to get close to Sandi, you know, or you have some business with him or make an impression. Just buy something with chocolate. Right?

Petra Kmetec: 18:07

But dark chocolate.

Anita Mlakar: 18:09

Oh my god. So, it’s not any, it’s dark chocolate. Okay.

Sandi Bitenc: 18:15

Now it’s becoming too personal.

Anita Mlakar: 18:18

Yeah, it’s nice to see you like that, you know, you should enjoy this evening really be together and making business with it and spending time together. Wow, this is great.

Sandi Bitenc: 18:29

Yeah, we’ll get the community behind us from Africa

Anita Mlakar: 18:37

Yeah, really great. So, guys, would you like to share that? Should we leave you alone now?

Sandi Bitenc: 18:46

No, we still have time. People are still not arriving. Actually, apparently there was a lot of traffic. There’s just Hilina is also attending. So, she’ll be here in a few minutes. So, we have time. If there are any questions, we can take the questions.

Anita Mlakar: 19:03

Okay. I would also like to ask you something but of course inviting everybody. If you have questions, please write it now. We have Sandi here. He’s available, he will give you more answers because he’s used to talking right now. Sandi, In our last twitter space. We had an interesting theme about freelancing in Africa. And people were actually sharing some experience about how it is, experiences and this is where Ruba I agree that this is the way that we’re learning more about how it is there, you know, on the floor, how they’re coping with it. And actually, what they said, everybody agreed that what 3air is doing is really great. And there was a CEO of African Chamber of digital commerce really greeting this project saying how everything that you’re doing is really appreciated, inviting us all to some events. Sandi, this is really getting huge. Do you have that feeling too?

Sandi Bitenc: 20:06

Yeah, I do think that we are getting a slow break through right now here with all the events and people getting to know us. And I literally haven’t found anyone who would say it’s something we shouldn’t do, or that something is wrong with it. There are people, yes, some are a bit more, some are a bit less interested, but I already see it when people start asking questions if they’re the right questions, and there’s a lot of people really interested into it. I also spoke to some VC funds, and I know that some people hate them some people love them. I do think that having backing by some, some VCs, like for instance, yeah, Crypto Oasis and Crypto Sentio is one of our investors. It does give a bit more additional recognition. It also says that somebody has done the due diligence and so on. And there’s some big interest also from that side, although we will make sure that also the VCs don’t get in like really huge. Either way, we don’t have a lot of tickets left anymore. So, it’s going to be only small tickets at the same price as everybody else is getting. So, I think that the people are usually afraid of them, just because there were some stories out, they have the best prices and the biggest packs, and then they just drop on the community. But the right VCs, actually don’t they support the project.

21:42

Actually, you know, I was talking just yesterday, I had an hour and a half long talk with one of the Brian VCs from the US and they literally go with a project since the beginning. Helping them setting up the tokenomics, the White Paper, doing the marketing, connecting them to influencers, they were like where were you three months, four months ago? We are now at a stage that we don’t need that incubation anymore. Of course, any help with the marketing is always welcome. So, this is what we are actually agreeing with them currently.

22:18

Also, on those events, there are a lot of influencers here. There are a lot of crypto marketing agencies. So, we’ve done a lot of work on that, last week, I think that I announced that we will be getting in on, The Future is now show. And this show is going to be like 100% Africa focus currently, with some big names added in them. And those going to be a big event in Africa actually, for The Future is now and also AIBC is actually going into Africa. So, it’s like everybody is trying to enter Africa right now. I was speaking with some VCs, and they were saying that last year, even last year, it took to get a million investment into Africa took I think, like 37 weeks or something like that. And now it’s come down to eight or something like that. It’s crazy how much money is flowing there and yeah, it really looks like Africa is just going to explode in the next few years.

Anita Mlakar: 23:32

Yes, that’s true. And really, a lot of people are talking about it everywhere. Here is a question connected to this. Have you already decided on which DEX to list on? from Carlos. And I just had to show it also.

Sandi Bitenc: 23:50

Yeah. So right now, the decision has been made that we are listing the token on PancakeSwap. So, we are going to Binance Smart Chain at this moment in time. This is because SKALE is currently not ready, and we don’t want to risk it. And even if everything should be, you know, going well now with SKALE at this moment in time, it’s still not going to be a really liquid marketplace at that point in time when we want to launch. So, this is why we decided that we will list our token for sure on SKALE directly when it’s ready but just for the launch, we are utilizing PancakeSwap and Binance Smart Chain.

24:32

It’s mostly because the majority of our community actually kind of let’s say requested it. Whoever was asking for token listing summer was literally listing if we are on Binance Smart chain or if we are on PancakeSwap. So, it makes sense. It’s the most users they’re the biggest communities. It’s you know, the biggest liquidity. So, this is why we decided to actually go on PancakeSwap and then list there. There needs to be enough liquidity and enough traders and enough, you know, community and people behind it that the token launch is going to be a success, but this doesn’t mean that we’re abandoning SKALE, not at all. So, we are still building with on SKALE. And the platform is going to launch on SKALE. So, this is now going to launch on the Binance Smart Chain, and we will provide the bridge back to SKALE, once everything is ready and done there.

25:37

Also, there is one other update that I didn’t share yet. And we just submitted our smart contracts for audit. So once the audit is complete, we’ll publish the smart contracts, for vesting and for the token, and then we’ll mint the tokens and also put everyone that’s bought the tokens up until now, directly into the smart contracts for vesting. And then it’s actually out of our hands. So, once we put it into the smart contracts, we cannot take the tokens anymore, or whatever. So, you’ll be in full control, or the smart contracts going to be in full control of how and when you get the tokens. And we will do a full audit of all those contracts so that you can be safe and secure that everything’s going to work like promised.

Anita Mlakar: 26:33

Okay, thank you, Sandi. There’s another question from Michael, do you have any plans or goals when you go to parties like that? Or do you just see where the journey goes?

Sandi Bitenc: 27:01

Well, sometimes I know exactly who I want to meet. And what I want to do and also today, there is a goal to achieve, so I do have a goal to achieve. But when I achieve, it’s just you know, whoever you can meet.

Anita Mlakar: 27:29

Okay. You were, you have a little worse connection than you did before. We could hear you. You were just little interrupted. We understand the answer. I see that the party is started.

Sandi Bitenc: 27:45

Yeah, the party started. So, if you didn’t understand me good. Is it better if I speak from here, better?

Anita Mlakar: 27:53

It is okay. Sandi, it was just for a short time. Since I don’t see any more questions Sandi, then I think we could let you go in just a minute there is something else. Okay. Dark chocolate and Nougat. Got you guys. Okay, thank you.

Anita Mlakar: 28:20

Okay, Sandi, I think we did say what we wanted to say, or questions were asked. Maybe we should just live up to party.

Sandi Bitenc: 28:29

Yeah, cool.

Anita Mlakar: 28:31

But we do need a report from the party. Okay. So, take some pictures, talk to some people, make some videos and send them into community.

Sandi Bitenc: 28:40

Petra gets this job. Petra, you need to take some pictures, some videos and you need to post them in the community.

Sandi Bitenc: 28:47

I don’t have any more Wi Fi so.

Sandi Bitenc: 28:50

I’ll share it with you.

Anita Mlakar: 28:52

Really, you’re in the vibe Petra.

Sandi Bitenc: 28:57

I burned it all. This month, I have burned it all.

Anita Mlakar: 29:04

Okay, you should use Sandi’s phone and do that because we’re expecting a report.

Petra Kmetec: 29:11

Done!

Sandi Bitenc: 29:12

Done! I’m not so good in taking pictures and videos.

Anita Mlakar: 29:16

But you’re learning it. Thank you, Sandi. Thank you, Petra. Have a great evening. Enjoy your staying together there. And of course, networking. Connecting with people and do get food Sandi, don’t forget to eat. Wow, it’s great. It looks great.

Sandi Bitenc: 29:37

it’s lovely.

Anita Mlakar: 29:39

they’re cooking. I think they’re cooking back there.

Sandi Bitenc: 29:43

A new building just behind me. This one wasn’t here even a few months ago and I think that the lights are lit now for a few weeks only. There is always something new there.

Anita Mlakar: 29:59

They are doing it so fast in Dubai.

Sandi Bitenc: 30:02

Look at this tower back there.

Anita Mlakar: 30:07

It’s amazing.

Sandi Bitenc: 30:07

There are four towers together facing one each other. It’s nice here. Some crazy buildings.

Anita Mlakar: 30:16

It’s really amazing Sandi, it’s time for us also to get to know Dubai a little better.

Sandi Bitenc: 30:31

We’ll do a meet up here. Once we successfully launch the token, will do a meet up here.

Anita Mlakar: 30:39

And then we will make a report with pictures and video

Sandi Bitenc: 30:43

And we’ll take a few people from the community with us.

Anita Mlakar: 30:47

Oh, great. This is a promise. So, guys, stay tuned. Stay with us. And thank you for being with us also today. Sandi enjoy the party. And again, next Wednesday 5pm Central European time, don’t forget.

Sandi Bitenc: 31:07

Yeah. it changed a bit for us.

Anita Mlakar: 31:09

Yeah, I know but not for me. Sandi, Have a great evening. Thank you for being with us.

Sandi Bitenc: 31:17

Bye.

Anita Mlakar: 31:17

Bye. Thank you for all of you to be a part of this. Bye Sandi. Bye everyone.
