3air weekly AMA 15th December 2021 5pm CET

This is a transcript from our weekly YouTube live AMA:

Anita Mlakar: 00:26

Hello, everybody, and welcome to 3air’s weekly, AMA, every Wednesday on our channels. Of course, we are happy to have you here and to be able to give you some additional information about our project of bringing internet to Africa, and how you can be a part of the movement that it’s making a change.

00:47

My name is Anita Mlakar. I am the host of these events with our main speaker, Sandi Bitenc, and our special guests coming up soon. So let me invite you to be a part of this to get involved. Of course, you have more options, you can click like, you can write a comment, a suggestion, you can write the question in the chat, hit the bell icon to get notifications and subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can invite a friend, be a member of our community on telegram and Twitter. They’re both growing very fast. And we will do it a little different today. And I am already saying hello to Sandi.

01:29

Sandi. Hello. Nice to see you.

Sandi Bitenc: 01:31

Hello. Hi.

Anita Mlakar: 01:33

How are you today?

Sandi Bitenc: 01:34

I’m perfect. How are you?

Anita Mlakar: 01:37

I’m great. I’m doing just great. And looking forward to start a little differently. And of course, to invite our special guest. Are we ready for that?

Sandi Bitenc: 01:47

Yeah, let’s bring him on.

Anita Mlakar: 01:50

Okay. so, I’m saying hello, and welcome to our special guest member of the team. He is our blockchain advisor, James Bernard. Hello, and welcome.

James Bernard: 02:04

Good evening. Good afternoon to everyone. Thanks for having me.

Anita Mlakar: 02:08

Good evening. James, nice to see you. Nice to have you here. I’m really happy that you’re our guest today. And of course, we’re looking forward to all the information that we’ll be hearing.

02:20

First of all, James, you are here, of course, to talk about the Formula One event because you and Sandi have a lot of information about that. But still, let me introduce you just a little bit. You’re one of the founding members of the Dubai Global Blockchain Council and the DMCC blockchain innovation group, you are involved with 3air on a global level connecting 3air to VC funds and private investors and also providing compliance advice and bring 3air to the Formula One as we set. So, it’s a very important role, James, and we will be using this short time with you to get more information.

02:59

First of all, tell me, how is it to be a part of 3air’s steam?

James Bernard: 03:07

Well, thanks for that, Anita. It’s fantastic. I got to know Sandi over the past months, and the 3air protocol and the strategy and what’s been done and what’s coming up in the future. My role as it’s been in the past, and as it’s going forward, I’m very supportive of the Middle East blockchain community, the crypto community. So, looking at what 3air was doing it, it struck a few chords with me, I think it stood out, I believe in what they’re trying to do what you’re trying to do, or we’re trying to achieve- “global connectivity”, broadband for everyone. I think that it’s not just useful for Africa, but for the rest of the world connecting with Africa, for opportunities for individuals that are there, and individuals globally to chip to connect with them and provide opportunities.

04:06

So, it was something I was really happy to support and excited to support. And I think that Sandi is a great leader, in terms of driving this forward. And in my role, as it’s been for, I think the past 15 years is really to make connections and to bring people who can get involved in this and add value to the forefront and connect with 3air. So, I’m really excited about it. I see a lot of upside on this. And this is just the beginning really so very happy to be involved. Very excited.

Anita Mlakar: 04:46

That is nice to hear Sandi, right?

Sandi Bitenc: 04:48

Yeah, it’s amazing. I need to really thank James. He is just amazing. It’s like, whoever I want to meet, I just say, “James, Can you connect me?” And he is, “Yeah, sure”. puts his phone out and there it is. So, it’s really great. And also, he settle up all the connections for our Formula One co-sponsorship, he was there with me all the time and helping me make really great connections.

Anita Mlakar: 05:23

Okay, we’ll be talking about that just in a minute but first of all, James, you have a lot of experience also in blockchain in the Middle East. Could you tell us a little more about it?

James Bernard: 05:36

Yeah, sure, thanks. I guess, for me, it really started back in back 2014. And we were a DMCC, we were part of the Global Blockchain Council that was set up at the prime minister’s office very early on really in stages of DLT, and blockchain. And we were looking at global use cases where we can harness those and bring those use cases into the UAE. And what we could use, both government and semi government and private sector use to make it all the different parts of government and semi government and private, business more efficient, and effective, and really sort of, I guess, immature, in terms of our knowledge back then. But over the years since then, devise become a sort of melting pot of the UAE has become a melting pot of all of businesses attracted from all over the world to join together.

06:34

We, as in DMCC, set up the crypto center. Can you believe it was a year before last really but came to fruition really last year. And we teamed up with CB labs and CBBC to set up the CB labs in anonymous tower, which now Sandi is part of as well. So 3air there, and it’s a really good ecosystem for companies to come in and to connect. I’m just one of the people who is able to connect these companies together with investors, with government regulators with just everything that a company would need to stand the best chance of being successful. And I think what that’s done is it’s really connected Dubai with other areas like Switzerland was quite a leading country in crypto and blockchain, a lot of companies started the lives there.

07:26

But now a lot of companies are starting their life in the UAE, and in Dubai and in DMCC. So, I’m just part of the equation and very proud to be part of the equation and very supportive of everything we’re doing there. So, as you know, the latest things are sort of the regulatory environment that’s being set up in the UAE, but also on the sort of financing. During COVID, we’ve really seen the rest of the world, look at the UAE, look at the Middle East and look at it for investment opportunities. Whereas maybe before that, they weren’t doing that so much. So, there’s a lot more opportunity now in the Middle East and in Dubai than there was before from family offices from investment from other types of versus VC funds and that’s just great for the sector in general.

Anita Mlakar: 08:14

Well, it’s just amazing. I can’t believe that I’m talking to someone who has so much experience on this field, it’s really good to have you on. Now, a part of this also, Sandi said, being a part of 3air and connecting and getting all the connections also to the project, you were both part of this big project of Formula One. And I’m really excited to hear more about it from James and from Sandi. We were talking earlier with Sandi, and I intentionally didn’t want to ask anything, because I really wanted to be as surprised as everybody right now who is with us. So please do tell us more about it.

Sandi Bitenc: 09:02

James, you start I know that you’re on a tight schedule that you should be right now already on another meeting, but you really took the time and I’m even more grateful for that. So, you start and then they will let you go.

James Bernard: 09:20

Okay. Great. I Appreciate that. And happy to give you my time and happy that you’re giving me the time.

09:28

So yeah, it was an opportunity that came up through a couple of companies that we work with, and we have a DMCC as well and they kind of brought this opportunity to us and their multifamily office themselves. So, they’re bringing investment into the Middle East and so I have a couple of words. It’s probably time is gone so fast, but a good few weeks ago now maybe even a month I spoke to Sandi and Sandi decided to take this forward with the Formula One, and I think it can’t have gone any better. Really. It was just the people that we met during that session, it wasn’t just brilliant for 3air, it was kind of a privilege for I think, me and Sandi to meet all these people as well. We had CZ from Binance. In the event that we were out as well, we had some of the sort of biggest names in crypto and blockchain and then investment and VC funds and other blockchain protocols and crypto guys. And it’s amazing that the people that you meet involved in crypto, involved in any of the sporting events, they have become kind of more or less a sideshow for a business, if you can say that, although it linked to, but alongside of that, that facility so that they could meet the right people, new people, and talk about what that really bringing broadband, plays and be kids watching racing cars go round.

Sandi Bitenc: 10:57

Three days and three nights also. So, it’s all bit three.

James Bernard: 11:01

The other guys from the crypto community across the UAE and across the world, it was just action.

Sandi Bitenc: 11:07

Easy accessible those people at it, it was really easy to talk to them.

James Bernard: 11:11

It was really nice.

Anita Mlakar: 11:13

Just another question before you have to disconnect, you’re so special, when your own such events I know that people who are they’re already expecting to do a little networking and everything. But like these events, What is it about this events that you can easily approach or easier approach them?

James Bernard: 11:36

You could have actually written that question- completely right, these events we the confident and comfortable to meet. To meet people that are legitimate opportunity, maybe investment. And if you’re at an event, it’ll give you that trust. And if you have a good story and strategy and Arena. it’s not just ecosystem in the UAE that’s been developed. The CB labs and other ecosystems have developed these kind of like little ring from where you are, how you fit in if you’re legitimate, and that the entire sector because it protects everyone gives everyone the opportunity to talk about their protocols and what they’re doing. But also, as I said, protects everyone and people know that who’s legitimate, and who to talk to. And then of course, sporting events. it was perfect opportunity for us.

Anita Mlakar: 12:35

was a great race. A good one.

James Bernard: 12:38

Well, yeah, married to a Dutch lady. So, In the event that we were at, we also had a couple of three or four very famous Dutch Star, it was quite an explosion when Max won the race.

Anita Mlakar: 12:54

I can just imagine.

Sandi Bitenc: 12:59

I was standing actually besides Ali B even when the race was over. He couldn’t stop screaming, crying, that was so fun.

James Bernard: 13:13

Ali B, Patrick clover and a few others. Yeah, it was great. It’s wonderful meeting you. They remember what you’ve told them about opportunities. And a lot of these people they have the potential to invest in things something that is going to be return and all the other values that you get from being in that service.

Anita Mlakar: 13:39

So, I’m very happy that 3air was there, that Sandi was there, and this opportunity was used. Thank you very much, James, for being with us. I know how valuable your time is, and that you’re now going I think you are on a special dinner or something but, yes.

James Bernard: 13:58

Absolute pleasure, the whole 3air community for listening, happy to be spoken to anytime someone wants to reach out and have a chat. So, thanks again.

Anita Mlakar: 14:08

Thank you and enjoy your evening.

James Bernard: 14:10

Take care. Thanks.

Anita Mlakar: 14:11

Bye.

Anita Mlakar: 14:13

Great having James here as one of course because I have so many questions. Now I just want to see or hear it from your point of view. How was it? when you came there and there was so many people have to introduce also the project to talk to them, but probably enjoying, everything.

James Bernard: 14:13

Bye.

Sandi Bitenc: 14:33

So, I have been following Formula One for quite a few years. I’m still from the times when Schumacher was retired. Now, Schumacher is again racing by then different one. And bit before I went to the race, so I knew what was happening. It was all the last years and I think I’m going to start following Formula One a bit again but to be honest, I didn’t see a lot of the race. I was there the whole three days, and I did a few pit lane walks because we had the tickets to go into the pit lanes. And I watched maybe two minutes of qualifying. And then I watched the race, I think I watched like 10 or 15 minutes or at the start, and then the last 10 minutes also. So that was what I saw about the race.

15:28

Everything else was really focused on getting as many connection as possible and to speak to as many people as possible. And there were quite some amazing people from the crypto space there, not only from crypto, also some influencer are not directly connected to crypto, and some stars, celebrities, people from the governments. we have representatives there from Bermudas. Bermudas are actually doing some crazy stuff in in crypto. They look really progressive, and I think we’ll hear a lot about the Bermudas in the crypto space in the next few years. I still haven’t digested everything.

16:24

I already did some follow ups. I had a meeting yesterday with somebody who’s well connected in Africa at the governmental level and also has access to celebrities. And we’ve met Akon there. So, she’s friends with Akon. And I tomorrow I’m having another follow up with an investor that wants to remain a bit private but huge potential there in regards to his investment and the connections that he has to a lot of VC funds and private investors. We spoke just before the AMA, I spoke to James, how we want to take this and make the best out of it. So right now, James is making the list of everybody who’s been there, and we’ll just make follow up calls or meetings here, if possible, with each and every one of them. Formula One is a great opportunity to meet people to network to get people interested, but you cannot make deals there. So that needs to follow afterwards on the follow up meetings. And I’m going to try to make as many meetings now, before I leave for Europe, maybe do some in Europe, we are entering the time of the holidays. So probably most of the follow ups and everything we will follow just in the beginning of January.

Anita Mlakar: 18:11

Yeah. So, if someone was maybe thinking, they’re just going there to enjoy the race and to have fun and on the other hand this big project is going on it is actually all about connecting, doing business, seeking opportunities and that was a great event and a great opportunity to do that, right?

Sandi Bitenc: 18:30

Yeah, and I’m not saying it wasn’t enjoyable, I enjoyed every moment of it, but it wasn’t enjoyable because there I was there at Formula One race it was enjoyable because I met so many people really interesting people got to talk about crypto and about 3air and about also other project that was, but it was also exhausting to be honest. I didn’t sleep much in this. In last two years. I haven’t slept as little as now those three days. So, it was a bit exhausting. And just when it finished so on Sunday, we had an after party I came back to the hotel at 3’ something like that. And then I needed to get up at 6’, just have a little bit of breakfast and then drove back to Dubai to another conference where I was a speaker. And afterwards I had a meeting and then in the evening we had another event with Crypto Valley Dubai, it is just one after the other. It was really exhausting. So today I got a bit of sleep and I’m back to full energy again.

Anita Mlakar: 19:51

Okay, it’s just another question was Will Smith there maybe?

Sandi Bitenc: 19:56

I don’t know. I haven’t been a lot out of our booth there. There were so many interesting people there that I didn’t go out a lot and there was one, there was one sector where we didn’t have access. And it was still a bit more restricted because of the COVID, and so on. So, they didn’t let everybody in the backstage or how should I say it because they’re still a bit afraid that the team might get some COVID, and so on but it was a bit more relaxed, I think, than any other race because it was the end of the season. So, they weren’t so much concerned that they could not go on the next race. So that was good. But still, there was a part that we couldn’t enter and probably there were the most Hollywood celebrities and so on.

20:56

Okay, now I’m just checking a little in the chat what is going on? So, thank you, everybody, for being with us. Someone is saying that network isn’t perfect. I am looking at my feet and everything is okay with me. So again, I would like to check if you are hearing us and seeing us. Good. That is a very important question. In the meantime, you can see all the photos that Sandi had made in that event. Oh my god. Amazing!

21:26

I was in the box of Max Verstappen. I was led in so I could walk around the Formulas there and talk to the team and so on. So that was nice. That was inside the box. And that was the new formula one from Aston Martin. They were presenting it, it’s for the next year. So, this was, you see there our logo, is just the other way it’s a mirror. So, we were there also, and a lot of stuff were happening in front of this wall. This is Ali B, He is a Dutch rapper, quite famous there. Here we are with James walking through the pit lane. And this was our suite. And there are some maybe some people know who this is, but I’m not actually allowed to mention. This was Kevin a representative from the Bermudas.

22:43

You probably know this guy, right? I think you do. He does need the introduction. CZ, the CEO of Binance or founder of Binance. I think he gave the CEO somebody else, so we did some NFT’s there directly on the track. Another YouTube influencer Mo here quite known with a few million subscribers. I think we’ll do something with him. Yvonne, he is quiet a guy here in Dubai in the blockchain space. He organized the proof of fusion. So, proof of fusion was there running alongside Formula One at actually the same place. And it was a conference that was going on for three days. And every day there was a after party and Akon was actually the main star of that proof of fusion. And Yvonne was the organizer and I know him even from before, and I met him actually the day after when we were at the billionaire’s club event from Crypto Valley Dubai or now called Crypto Oasis.

24:04

So, you can see here Akon, this is where we had a party just together with Akon and his team, it was cool. And that’s then on Monday when I just came back in the morning, right directly. I just didn’t go home from Abu Dhabi. I drove directly to this conference, not going home at all, and gave a speech there. Then I went home. Just to change clothes and we then went to the Crypto Valley event. They were rebranding to Crypto Oasis. And they’re right now I think the biggest organization that drives crypto and blockchain here in UAE, so we also had our own table sponsored and to be honest, it was a gala dinner. So, I said like, “Okay, hopefully the food will be good because everything else would be boring”. Man! I was wrong. It was an amazing time. So, the best gala dinner I’ve been to, there was a really high-level performance going on there besides the speeches, top level performance really. And the food was amazing was really great. We also had some NFT auctions happening, and Yvonne actually got here a recognition of being one of the three most influential crypto persons in the UAE this year.

Anita Mlakar: 25:50

It looks great.

Sandi Bitenc: 25:51

It was. It really was.

Anita Mlakar: 25:57

Oh, my God! well Sandi, I know you’ve had great time and I know there were a lot of opportunities, I know that you will be doing a lot of this now after it. And I’m really looking forward to that. Of course, you will keep us informed about what is going on regarding the project, of course, and everything that was happening there. So, thank you very much for this introduction.

26:19

Now, I would like to thank everybody that is with us today. Because we’re having a lot of comments, a lot of questions. People also being amazed about the Formula One and everything that was going on there.

26:32

Now, you’re also, of course, doing great job being with us not only here on AMA, but also in our community on Telegram, and Twitter. So, thank you very much but we’ll be happy to announce that we have some more giveaways today. So, stay with us in this AMA because we will give away 1000 tokens to the three of you, who will be active, commenting and asking questions or maybe so my first question to you is if you will stay with us till the end? So just write in the comment section if you will be with us till the end so that we will know whom to give the prize. And maybe to just give us the information where you are coming from? so that we see from which country you are.

27:18

And today because we had a great AMA also last week, Petra was with us and today James was with us at the start, but today we will be also talking more about the project what is in it for you? And how can you participate? So, feel free to ask any questions you have, we will also reveal a super-secret code for our New Year giveaway. So just stay tuned.

27:48

I didn’t do the short introduction at the beginning. So maybe just for those who are maybe with us for the first time, what are we doing?

Sandi Bitenc: 27:59

Let me just maybe say one more thing. So, we right now have 30 people watching online. Let’s say, I’ll give away 1000 tokens for each 10 LIVE viewers that we have. So go and share the link and let’s get as many. We said well, we’ll give three times 1000 tokens away and we’re giving that away for sure. No matter what and for each 10 new live viewers that we get we’ll give away 1000 more tokens. So, with 40, we get four times 1000 With 50 we give five times 1000 tokens away. So, share, bring some new people in.

28:52

And in regards to the super-secret code, we’ll share it just you know somewhere in between, we’re not saying it’s going to be in the end it won’t be at the end it will be somewhere in between. And you will have really limited time to actually put it in. So, there’s hundreds of points right now waiting if you get the right code, and that will be available only 30 minutes after we finish our AMA and after the 30 minutes, we are reducing that from 100 points to 50 points. And that will be then there just for everybody who really doesn’t have the means to watch us live right now. And that will be available for the next 12 hours and afterwards and then we are taking it away. So, this is an extra opportunity. That’s why there are so many points available. It’s for our most loyal community that’s really watching us live and commenting and supporting us very much.

Anita Mlakar: 30:05

You’re full of surprises Sandi, I never know what will happen. Okay, super code. And like you said, for every 10 People today live, you will give away 1000 tokens, right?

Sandi Bitenc: 30:18

Yeah.

Anita Mlakar: 30:19

Three for sure. And then if there are more people more 10s, then Okay, another 1000, maybe, or 2000. We’ll see what happens.

30:30

Can I do the short introduction of the project now?

Sandi Bitenc: 30:33

Please do.

Anita Mlakar: 30:34

Thank you very much.

30:36

So 3air is all about covering Africa with internet access and offering the right solution. I’m sure some of you already heard that but maybe some of you haven’t. And it’s always good to hear it again. So nearly half of the world’s population has no broadband Internet access. The sad reality is most of this population is located in Africa and according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, providing universal access to the Internet continues to increase in importance, allowing many to access online services and health care, education, and other skills necessary to reduce poverty and sure economic growth and faster inclusion on the global market. And with so many brilliant minds in Africa, many believe that the right technology can help support their education and communication with the rest of the world.

31:25

So, the team behind 3air believes we have a solution that can make this a reality. 3air a blockchain platform with its own Cardano ADA base token aims to solve this digital divide in Africa by partnering with K3 Telecom. A Swiss broadband provider specializing in infrastructure to solve this issue with a novel technology that can transmit optic great broadband internet, digital TV, and IP telephony over the air. And this technology is said to have the ability to connect millions of people. And on board a 3air blockchain platform caters specifically to the needs of developing countries and telecoms.

32:08

So, you can be a part of this solution. And we will be talking today more about the project. Reminding people, what is the purpose? And why they should be a part of it? So why would they say what is the main reason actually that they should participate and get involved? And Sandi, you will be answering some of these questions right now. Maybe just for starters, what would you say? What are the main reasons that people should get involved in this project?

Sandi Bitenc: 32:43

Well, to be honest, I think it’s a great cause, I think we are really doing something good for the people in Africa, for not only for people in Africa, but actually for everybody in the world. Because they can bring so much to the global economy, and it’ll impact each and every one of us. So that’s for sure. The token is there to be a community token, not only the payment token on the platform, and something that will provide internet access to people in Africa and digital identities for them. And staking opportunities and providing a system for bandwidth sharing, there’s so many things that the token actually does. And this brings a lot of value to the token. I need to say this is not an investment token, it’s not a security, it’s a utility token. So, you buy it because it has some utility for you. And even if you’re not there in Africa, and not using our broadband technology and connecting to it right now, you may in the future, because we’re also opening afterwards, we are opening our platform to other telecoms around the world and providing some roaming abilities and so on. You might go traveling throughout Africa, you’ll be able to connect two to three are there.

34:17

And again, it’s a community token. So, we’re setting up a big community pool. Actually around 1/3 of the fees that 3air generates will go into the community pool and the community will have full access and full authority what they want to do with that so you can maybe burn tokens if you want. if that’s something that you would like to do, I don’t know. I know that a lot of Cardano community is a bit of post burning, but there are a lot of community members that actually want some token burns, so I don’t think It’s not my decision to make a really. So, it’s a community project and I think the community has the votes on this but though for sure be a part of the community pool that we will need to be used to fund local projects and when you vote when you are an active member of the community, you will be rewarded for it.

35:24

So, a part of the community booth is actually also intended to reward the people that are actively participating in voting and watching over the project that apply for the funds and doing the due diligence that’s necessary to pick the right project and so on. So, I think it will have a lot of fun doing this. We will all make a lot of money doing this. I can say that, and we’ll have a lot of fun doing good for the people involved.

Anita Mlakar: 36:03

Yeah, like you said, it’s utility token, it’s a community token, it is for the good cause to make a difference to make a change. And it’s also high demand token. It’s limited, right?

Sandi Bitenc: 36:12

It is limited for sure. So, we are not minting any more than 1 billion tokens. So, we’ll mint one billion tokens and that’s it, it’s finite supply. No more minting will be done ever. It’s going to be prevented on the protocol level. So, nobody can ever mint any token anymore. So Un-hackable, nothing.

Anita Mlakar: 36:37

Yeah. And it’s also about what belonging being a part of the movement, which is bringing internet to Africa, making a change making a difference. Like you said, you also have voting rights, future voting rights, and oh, my god, there are so many good things in this project. Really. Why actually people should get involved and that is very important, right?

Sandi Bitenc: 37:02

Yeah.

Anita Mlakar: 37:04

Okay. Now, you can of course, participate in all ways. You can be just a part of the community. You can go to the token presale and be a part of it. By the way, how is the token presale going on?

Sandi Bitenc: 37:18

Well, right now, I need to say it’s slowed down a bit. Today, it picked up again, it’s slow down, because the market is down. So, I still think it’s a temporary down. So, we’re not in a bear market or anything like that. So, I think what’s happening right now it’s a healthy correction, but those things are unpredictable. It was predicted that December should be a crazy Bull Run. So, this is how we actually timed our presale. But now we are in a bit of a down market. I don’t think that’s going to be for long. I’m pretty bullish on the whole crypto space. Whatever that’s happening in the global economy, I think it’s going to be just bringing more value to crypto. And with it also our presale should pick up again. We had an article published in Cointelegraph. So, the biggest news blog or how you call this website, on crypto, there is. That’s a really nice one. So, you should go and maybe check it out. It’s everywhere on our social media, and you’ll probably find it also on Twitter and so on.

38:46

I see already this is bringing new people to our community and also to the presale. And we made so many connections on the Formula One but as I said you cannot close deals on the Formula One. it cannot happen but we’ll be closing deals. If not next week, then because it’s holiday season right now, then in the beginning of January will be closing. I think a bit bigger deals on the private sales.

Anita Mlakar: 39:22

Okay. We have a question here. How much will this huge project contributes to the happiness of the African people, I hope a lot, they deserve there’s already an answer. But you could say more about this Sandi because not only do you know the project more, but you were also in Africa, seeing how things are doing here and how people are actually waiting for this to happen, right?

Sandi Bitenc: 39:46

Yeah. For sure, they are. We could argue if Internet makes you happy and probably some will say, “Yeah, with the social media and so on. There are a lot of people that are getting depressed and so” but all in all, we are sometimes complaining because we take it for granted but just try and take away the internet for a few days, and you’ll see how unhappy you feel. I think it’s going to bring a lot of goodness to Africa and for me personally, internet is actually freedom you can educate yourself, you don’t need anybody else. You can inform yourself on any subject that you want. That was impossible before.

40:33

So, media control is far harder to do if you have internet access, like for up to free information. Education is for sure a big thing on happiness. I’m 100% standing behind this, and it will just allow everybody that wants it’s a bit more proactive to be included in the global economy and I think this will for sure bring a lot of happiness, to the people of Africa. And I do think that they deserve it, yes.

Anita Mlakar: 41:13

Okay, here’s another question. Both 3air and WMT are built on Cardano, do you have a specific agreements that you will not get on each other’s territory?

Sandi Bitenc: 41:24

No, we have no agreements, but I don’t think that we need agreements for that we have different focuses. We are not focused on rural areas, as rural mobile is right now. We are focused slowly solely on big cities. And we have so much work to do in big cities that we’re not thinking about going into any other territories right now. So, no written agreement there but as said, the core values that we have maybe the same, it’s connecting people, but the core people that we are addressing is totally different.

Anita Mlakar: 42:02

Okay, now, just to remind you, Sandi, we have 38 people right now, we are close to the 4 giveaway 4000 tokens. Okay, doing good.

42:16

Now, Robert is asking a question, why would you want to burn the tokens?

Sandi Bitenc: 42:22

I don’t want to burn the tokens, I just I know a lot of people want to burn them. So, it usually it’s like that if you burn tokens, it removes them from into circulation. So, the value that the project actually has, is distributed to less tokens. So, I know in theory, the price should go up somehow, because you burn some tokens if you don’t need new ones. So that’s why a lot of people want to do it and there are a lot of successful projects that’s done it. I think Binance is one of, the B&B is one of the perfect examples of that burning somehow works or can work. I’m not saying I want to do it but if the community wants to do it, why not?

Anita Mlakar: 43:10

Yeah. Lawrence is asking. If the holder, maybe he wants to know how a holder will have a vote, right?

Sandi Bitenc: 43:22

Well, we’ll have a special application for this. So, you’ll just log in your wallet and the number of tokens that you have will give you the number of voting rights.

Anita Mlakar: 43:34

Okay, thank you. Here’s another question. Monetizing the project, how can non crypto the people be convinced and onboarded?

Sandi Bitenc: 43:44

I think that it doesn’t matter. If you are crypto or non-crypto, the premise behind this is the same. So also, non-crypto should join because they want to do something good to people of Africa. We cannot speak about some financial incentives here because it’s not a token that we want people to speculate on. So, it’s not a speculative asset.

44:12

But how to onboard them? They’ll have to do some education on crypto. So that’s for sure. Else, it’s going to be hard to participate in a crypto project. We are trying to make it as easy accessible as possible. In Africa, we’ll set up in each country that we are entering we’ll set up our offices there and we’ll provide a lot of education on blockchain. We want to educate people really and also one of our core ideas behind the token is actually to bring value and enable people to own the hardware that they need to use for to connect to the internet, and we’ll be providing them with stake tokens to buy it back, afterwards. And for that, they’ll need to educate themselves.

45:11

So, it’s going to be a big incentive to know how crypto works, how staking works and how the token economics works, and so on. So, we’ll be doing a lot of that. And right now, we’ve been speaking already about the presale, and that we want to include some Fiat possibility. So, to pay with a credit card, we’ve been working on that quite a lot.

45:22

Right now, we hit a roadblock because the payment provider that we are integrated with, at this moment, the Fiat onboarding doesn’t work. So, we are right now looking into other providers, but we’ll get that done. I’m pretty sure we’ll get the done somehow, we want to do it.

46:04

Also, there’s another thing that I want to mention is that in the presale app, what we’ve done is now if you click on your wallet address, it will copy itself in full. So, you can also check if your wallet address is correct. And also, when buying, you just click on the wallet, and it will copy itself and you can then copy paste easily. And we are over 40 live viewers. So, 1000 tokens more go out.

Anita Mlakar: 46:42

Well, great. You’re doing great job, the community, they’re also inviting people saying Who are they inviting? And well, thank you very much. We have some more interesting questions. Let’s see, Carlos, will you always have to agree with the community on decisions on how the project should go?

Sandi Bitenc: 47:01

Well, that’s a tough question. I think that at one point, it will be the community that’s going to run the most of 3air, but there are for sure some things that will need to be always compliant and there won’t be a question to the community if we need a license or not because we need it, for instance, something like that. So, if we are reliant on it, at first, if the community is not big enough, we’ll for sure take our own decisions in regards to run a local ISP and so on. We have the experience there, we have the knowledge, but we’ll try to include the community as much as possible and once we see that the community is ready to actually take the responsibility and take everything serious and that the decisions made are actually good. And are taking 3air in the right direction. I don’t see any problem giving that part away.

Anita Mlakar: 48:08

Okay, Sandi, are you ready to tell and reveal the secret code already?

Sandi Bitenc: 48:15

Yeah, why not? Let’s do it.

Anita Mlakar: 48:19

Okay.

Sandi Bitenc: 48:21

The secret code is 3–2–1. It’s “CONNECT AFRICA”.

Anita Mlakar: 48:30

Yay, “CONNECT AFRICA”.

Sandi Bitenc: 48:35

That’s it, you put this one in And you get 100 points in our giveaway for the iPhone and for a lot of. so, with the iPhone, you might get also 50,000 tokens. that’s going to be like that.

Anita Mlakar: 48:54

That was the 10 seconds that the code was revealed and now you said they have like 30 minutes after the AMA to gather 100 points. Right?

Sandi Bitenc: 49:05

Exactly.

Anita Mlakar: 49:06

Okay, so you have to be quick. In the meantime, we have another question here. There are areas in Africa where government policies are limiting progress made in the tech what is 3air are doing to work with or avoid such diplomat problems?

Sandi Bitenc: 49:25

We have a whole team that’s doing the lobbying there for and we have a lot of people and new people are actually coming on. This week I spoke to three people that are having governmental level access throughout Africa. And James is one of them for instance, James can do make a lot of stuff happened. We have also Oliver von Wolff. That’s really well connected, and we have quite a few people also on board that are not publicly there but they’re doing the lobbying for us. We are always going into local partnerships, with the local entities with the right people.

50:15

We are partnering up with foundations. Yesterday I had a meeting with the girl I was telling you about. So, what she does is, she has connections and I’ll just say she advises governments on the technology that they should use, because not everyone is really proficient and in Technologies and in politics, and for sure, not in blockchain. So, there are groups out there that are doing this education and we are connected to them. We are already connected to many of them, and we are trying to get more and more connections in that space.

Anita Mlakar: 51:04

Doing a great job. This is another question. What’s the best route from fiat to 3air? Do I have to go through another coin?

Sandi Bitenc: 51:14

Right now, what you need to do is you need to go to an exchange and then you actually need to use crypto to buy 3air right now. So be it ADA, be it ETH, or BTC, or USDT or USDC. We have a lot of options. You can use Solana to buy it, you have a lot of options. But right now, you cannot buy directly with dollars or euros or your credit card whatsoever. We are working on that. So crypto is the only way to buy it right now.

51:53

And I saw there was a question, Where can we use the code, and you can use the code here. So, whoever doesn’t know where to use the super-duper secret code, you can go to the 3air photo contest. And there are all the instructions there. And yeah, we said we will need to mention how this actually works. So, it’s a gleam contest, you have tasks that you can fulfill there, some tasks are one time to do, and you get some points for it. And there are some tasks that you need to do daily, on a daily basis and it will give you more and more and more points.

52:36

At the end on the first of January, we are having a draw. So, it’s not that the one that has the most points wins, the one that has the most points has the most possibilities to win but actually theoretically, if you were really lucky, you could potentially win. Also, the main prize is having only one point. So, it’s possible, everybody has the ability to win but the more points you have, the more chances of winning you have. So even if somebody is really having now a lot of points, just don’t give up and today we were giving out 100 points for this super-secret code. And who knows, maybe we’ll have a jackpot codes coming up in the next week or so. I don’t know.

Anita Mlakar: 53:31

Surprised again. Okay, we have time for another question, already put that one on. Are there any extra benefits if we hold 100,000 token instead of 10,000 token, for example?

Sandi Bitenc: 53:50

In regards, yeah, if the token goes up more, having 10 times more, you’ll have 10 times more. There are no actual additional benefits, if we would give out more rewards or so on but if there is somebody who actually wants to buy more tokens, there is still a private sale going on and if you buy tokens for $50,000, you’ll get them cheaper right now still. So that’s the private sale and if you want something like this, then just drop us an email on info@3air.io and some of our team will take care of you and let you know how you can come into the private presale.

Anita Mlakar: 54:39

Here’s a question What are possibilities for staking give us some info on that subject?

Sandi Bitenc: 54:46

There are 10% of all the tokens or 100 million tokens are set aside right now for the early staking rewards, and we will enable staking rewards are three months after the token generation event and at first it will just be rewards for holding the tokens. And with inversion to our platform, we are going into the 3air chain.

55:18

At with version one, we actually don’t need our own blockchain, it doesn’t make sense to build our own blockchain to make the payment processing and to provide something as the discounts, loyalty system and your own hardware incentives or even the bandwidth sharing model that we are having. This does not require us to build our own blockchain, it doesn’t make sense because the volume of transactions are not so high. And it’s nothing really special that we would need our nodes for it.

55:59

But in version two, we are going more into the privacy layer for specifically for telecoms, and also, we’ll go into bandwidth tokenization, and so on. So, that will require our own Sidechain. And there was a question about version two. So, version two is pretty much an idea right now and we know what we want to do but there are no concrete information, how many tokens you’ll need to know how the nodes will be operated, and so on. So, it’s an idea, but not nothing really, that I could say it’s going to be like this in this in this. So, we still need to do a lot of development and a lot of research before this is going to happen.

56:44

We don’t have version one yet. So, let’s not talk about version two too much. It’s an idea. We know where we want to go. We also know we want to do in the future after that. But as I said, it’s not something that’s well defined at this point.

Anita Mlakar: 57:03

Okay, Sandi, we are almost an hour long. Now, should we give away the tokens now?

Sandi Bitenc: 57:13

Yeah, I think we should. It looks like we’re going to go over an hour again, it goes so fast. It’s incredible. I have one more thing that I want to share. And we are doing this, This is Laura, I hope Laura will join us one time on our show. I know she is not really good in speaking English, but I would love her to be on the show. And we’ll help her out with her English. And because she does such an amazing job in designing everything. So, she drawn this little guy, we’re still looking for a name for him or for her I don’t know.

Anita Mlakar: 58:06

Maybe some ideas for it.

Sandi Bitenc: 58:08

Yeah, if you guys have an idea, just write it in the chat. Maybe we’ll choose the name that you suggest. So, this is right now a concept we are doing a 3d version of it. We might even do an NFT out of it. I don’t know, it’s an idea. And once he is fully assembled, he’ll be accompanying us and going a bit through Africa visiting people and we have some pretty neat ideas what we want to do in the future, and I think you are going to like it really like it. But he’s cute, isn’t he?

Anita Mlakar: 58:55

He’s so cute. He’s really amazing. Laura is really doing a great job I cannot believe it and when it was presented in a community, they were all like, “Wow my god, it’s a great job. What is she doing it’s really beautiful, looking forward to it.

Sandi Bitenc: 59:13

We will bring stickers and the emoticons out of it. It’s really nice.

Anita Mlakar: 59:21

Yeah, really.

Sandi Bitenc: 59:22

Somebody said, “svemirko” I guess this is more of like our language there. Airstronaut…

Anita Mlakar: 59:36

Airstronaut, interesting. Great ideas!

Sandi Bitenc: 59:43

let’s see, Airy, okay.

Anita Mlakar: 59:50

It’s great because you know people if we have more suggestions, just brainstorming then we will have a great name for him. I am sure.

Sandi Bitenc: 59:58

I’m pretty sure I’m going to give 1000 tokens to somebody who comes up with a good name. Now, I’m going to make a decision right now what the name is going to be but let’s see if there’s really. Aireon, Airon, I think Aaron would like, I know one Aaron, he will for sure like it.

1:00:32

Okay, let’s start giving away some tokens. So, let’s do it like the last time I think it was okay, so well we’ll choose a comment here and we have four so two will be chosen out of YouTube and one we will choose from telegram and the other one we will choose from discord. Let’s do it like this. You can have the honors and choose the first one.

Anita Mlakar: 1:01:10

Okay, I have already decided, I was checking through this comments here in the chat and I have decided to give the first 1000 tokens to

Sandi Bitenc: 1:01:22

Okay, that was me sorry.

Anita Mlakar: 1:01:25

To, “Fishing Adventures Dubai”.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:01:36

So, Fishing Adventures Dubai, if you’re here what you need to do, you need to send us your either telegram or Twitter or discord handle. I don’t mind either one of those three, you need to write it down in the chat now. So that we can contact you on somewhere that we can identify you. Okay, so everybody that is going to be a winner on YouTube they need to provide us with a handle where we can identify them.

Anita Mlakar: 1:02:12

Yes. Now we have another one. Will you pick the one?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:02:20

Yeah. I will pick one from telegram, let’s see. Telegram, who is there. I’ll just scroll a bit and stop somewhere. Although I need to pick somebody who’s active right now. Let me see if you’re there on telegram “Ali Me” I’m picking you, there you go. Ali drop me a DM.

Anita Mlakar: 1:02:58

Congratulations to a second winner, another 1000 tokens given away. Okay. you’re also waiting for a fisherman, Just kidding. For Fishing Adventures Dubai to give us the address.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:03:23

Yeah. Okay. Fishing Adventure Dubai. You need to write your address down. Okay, you pick another on. Let’s pick somebody who wrote down a good name for our bot, 3air Airgo, Airstronaut.

Anita Mlakar: 1:03:50

Which one do you like?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:03:52

I like a lot of them.

Anita Mlakar: 1:03:55

You like svemirko.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:04:02

I love this one, but I think we’ll need to call him a bit shorter.

Anita Mlakar: 1:04:11

Short names are popular.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:04:15

Okay, so let’s pick this one, what do you think?

Anita Mlakar: 1:04:25

Airy or Airie, this one? Yeah, of course.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:04:30

It was one of the first one out with this. I think there were a lot of airy afterwards, so I think the most were coming with airy, but I was thinking what do you think if we call him just three, you know, I like Star Wars. I think that one will fit in pretty neat, so we just call him three. I think it’s good, just a name. We’ll still do some brainstorming on it. Okay, can you read this Itinerantur Bosniacus. I think he is also there, from our region.

Anita Mlakar: 1:05:20

Maybe yeah.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:05:31

I think we need to copy out those comments because they don’t stay in YouTube so that we have all the ideas. Okay, then we need to pick one. Also, from discord and whoever is active right now in discord. I’ll pick one.

Anita Mlakar: 1:06:01

Let’s see who gets the next prize. you have someone?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:06:12

Yeah. I have Wizard.

Anita Mlakar: 1:06:15

Okay.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:06:16

Wizard, you are a winner. Yeah. I see him, live long, and prosper. I am not only Star Wars fan I am also treky.

Anita Mlakar: 1:06:30

Okay, we have four. right?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:06:33

Yeah, four winners but I don’t know if we got from Mr. Bosniacus, his Twitter handle or something similar?

Anita Mlakar: 1:06:43

What about from Fishing Adventures, do we have it?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:06:47

Also didn’t see it. Guys, you need to write it down. Else we won’t be able to identify you.

Anita Mlakar: 1:06:55

Yeah, you have a chance to write them right now. It would be the best possible second right now.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:07:04

Let’s give them a few more minutes and answer some other questions. Did you find any questions during the week in our social channels that were interesting?

Anita Mlakar: 1:07:17

Yes, there is always the question that is repeating. It’s always about the presale, about how long it will last? You’ve already said that, but another question is if tokens run out till the 25th of January, what then?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:07:37

26th of January is the time that we are saying that we’re going to close. So, if we hit the hard cap before that, so then then it’s over. And then we do the TGE token generation event and that’s it. Else we are going to do the token generation event on the 26th of January.

Anita Mlakar: 1:07:59

Okay. Robert is saying that you should make it a girl and name it after your wife.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:08:07

Okay, it’s going to be Petra.

Anita Mlakar: 1:08:12

Petair or something. Okay, I have I think that Fishing Adventures Dubai, do we have? “Thanks, 3air” did he wrote it down?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:08:29

I don’t think so. You can thank us when we actually give you the tokens, but we won’t be able to give you the tokens. If you don’t write your telegram handle or twitter handle here.

Anita Mlakar: 1:08:45

We need the handle.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:08:47

Or what you actually can do just take a photo of the YouTube chat so that we see that you can actually write in, that you’re the owner of the channel and send us this to our email address. So that’s also a possibility. Okay, both of you winners and that’s it.

Anita Mlakar: 1:09:06

Okay, so we have a solution.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:09:08

There’s also a solution, see.

Anita Mlakar: 1:09:10

Okay, great. To get of course, 1000 tokens, which is a great reward, a right prize and don’t waste it use the opportunity.

1:09:20

So again, you should get involved you should participate. You should be a part of our community, on Twitter on Instagram, you should join us you should subscribe to our YouTube channel. And check the white paper if you want to have more information. It’s all in our channels also all this papers and you can check our website so much information is there. We are also on discord. So, there are so many opportunities to get involved and to be with us in this project. And of course, if you have additional question, just write them down in the community or use the opportunity to get the answer here in AMA every Wednesday. We are here right, Sandi?

Sandi Bitenc: 1:10:07

Yes, we are here every Wednesday and the next Wednesday, the Wednesday before Christmas. I’m coming back to Slovenia for a few days.

Anita Mlakar: 1:10:19

You have decided to come to Slovenia!

Sandi Bitenc: 1:10:22

Yeah, we are flying on Sunday. So, visit our families and our friends and it looks like it’s going to be a cold Christmas after all for us.

Anita Mlakar: 1:10:36

Oh my god, I’m really looking forward to seeing you here.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:10:40

Yeah, I am also, and I know Petra is for sure.

Anita Mlakar: 1:10:48

So, the next time we were having this live Slovenia to Slovenia, right? I mean, between the two people in Slovenia, okay, great.

1:10:58

Fishing Adventures Dubai said I already send my telegram handle. Sending again now. okay.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:11:05

Good. Perfect.

Anita Mlakar: 1:11:07

Okay. Thank you very much for being with us. Thank you for taking the time and giving us the opportunity to present our project to answer the questions. James was with us. It was really nice to have him here. And Sandi, wishing you a great week. Of course. We’ll be here again in seven days in a week time and joining all of you and thank you again for being a part of this community and being with us in AMA have a great evening and see you soon.

Sandi Bitenc: 1:11:42

Bye. Don’t forget 3air.

Anita Mlakar: 1:11:46

Just a minute. Okay. I did it. Bye

Sandi Bitenc: 1:11:51

Bye.
